Week 6: New Orleans Saints Fend Off Detroit Lions In Shootout

Sunday evening the New Orleans Saints hosted the Detroit Lions at the Superdome.  Mark Ingram and the Saints fended off the Lions' comeback to win 52-38.  The Saints passed for 186 yards and rushed for another 193 yards on their way to four offensive touchdowns.  Their defense played extremely well scoring two defensive touchdowns and forcing five turnovers.  The Lions didn't have a quiet offensive day as they still managed 347 total yards and scoring three touchdowns of their own but it was not enough to come away with the win, mainly from losing the turnover differential.  The key players of the game were 1) Mark Ingram (New Orleans RB) who rushed for two touchdowns and 114 yards, 2) Drew Brees (New Orleans QB) who threw for 186 yards and two touchdowns, and 3) Golden Tate (Detroit WR) who came away with a touchdown and 96 receiving yards on 7 receptions.  New Orleans moves to (3-2) on the year following the win while Detroit slides to (3-3).  Detroit will move on to host the Steelers at Ford Field next Sunday night and New Orleans will move on to travel to Green Bay next Sunday afternoon.
